Elvia Ellenia Cocks

I lift up my eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help, cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. It is with deep regret and much sadness that we the family of Elvia Ellenia Cocks announce that she has departed this earth and has transitioned into eternal rest. m 121: Verses 1 & 2

Cocks, 75, of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, died Monday, March 25, 2019, at the Roy Schneider Regional Medical Center. She was born December 31, 1943, to the daughter of the deceased Cyrille Mathias Cocks and Celina Bertille Barry Fleming-Cocks.

The funeral service will be held at Ss. Peter and Paul Cathedral on Thursday, April 4, 2019, at 9:30 a.m. There will be no viewing of the body. Funeral arrangements are handled by Turnbull's Funeral Home. Interment is at Western Cemetery No. 2.

She was preceded in death by her immediate families: her daughter, Joseanne Testamark; grandparents, Charles Louis, and Albertine Cocks, Alexandre Fleming and Alice Barry; and brothers and sisters, Oger N., Oliver M., Russel D., Martha S., and Julie A. Cocks.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters, Marie Claire Mussington, Viviran Cocks, Nicaise Steele, and Taffrone T. Testamark; grandchildren, Simone Charles and husband Marcelis Charles, Ashley Hodge, J-Quasi R. Testamark, Tiguwam Steele-Muhammad, Rasheed Murray and Taji Muhammad; great-grandchildren, Marcelis Charles Jr., Brooke M. Dairs, and Taji Muhammaid; brothers and sisters, Medelice Connor and family, Victoire Cocks, Omer Cocks-Richardson and husband Auguste Richardson, Shirley Cocks, and Calvin Cocks and wife Mildred Cocks and family; sister-in-law, Ginette J. Cocks; 14 nieces and 14 nephews; friends, Judith George, Shirley Hodge, Janette Edwards, Orpha Barbelle Beverly Monsanto, Gigi Quetel, Alrid Lockhart, Pearla Larsen, and other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

She was related to the Barry, Bernard, Blake, Cocks, Constant, Chittick, Connor, Duncan, Durant, Lambert, Fleming, Glasgow, Solomon, Muller, Lake, Gumbs, Rohan, Richardson, Hyman, Nestor-Hurbert, Mohamed, and Mussington families.

The family would like to apologize if, during their time of bereavement, they may have forgotten to mention the name of any family members or friends. Be assured that this was not intentional and hereby to wish to express their deepest gratitude, to Dr. Bachan and Dr. Weisher, Dr. Brian C. Bacot, Capital Management and staff, and doctors and staff at Schneider Regional Medical Center. Also, we would like to thank the Department of Human Services family for all their help.
