We announce the passing of William Edward George, better known as Eddie or Sac, who died Sunday, February 3, 2019, in Florida at the age of 74.
The first viewing will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at Turnbull’s Funeral Home and Crematory Services. The second viewing will be from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 13, 2019, with service immediately following at Nisky Moravian Church. Interment is at Eastern Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Chrystalia V. Smith; and father, Jens H. George; sister, Ruby George; brothers, Earle George, Gustave Petersen, Wilford Petersen, Errol Petersen, Robert “Bruce” Petersen, Hjalmar Petersen; special great-nephew, Alford “Shimbo” Rhymer Jr.; niece, Sherna Petersen; and nephews, Louis “Chapps” George Jr. and Earl Benjamin.
He is survived by his sisters, Ina Petersen, Sylvia George-Benjamin; brothers, Jens “Dee” George, Louis George; adopted daughter, Irma Pondt; special niece, Mildred Turbe; special great-nieces, Amarah Rhymer, Aminah Rhymer, Aeshah Rhymer; nieces, Sharon Turbe-DeSilvia, Ann Greaux, Karen Turbe, Patricia “Pat” Thomas, Ancelina “Darkie” King,
