Akiva L. N. Mills

We regret to announce the passing of Akiva L.N. Mills, affectionately known as Keevee, who passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at the age of 26 at Schneider Regional Center.

She is survived by her husband, Nixon John; son, Ni’Qai John; adopted daughter, Ah’Myah Beaupierre; parents, Dulcie Caines-Mills and Leroy Mills; father-in-law, Julius John and mother-in-law, Margarita Mitchell; sister, Desiree Caines-Blyden (husband Byron); brothers, Aswa Mills, Adisa Mills and wife (Lantavian) Kiyo Mills and wife (Teknika) ; nieces, T’Qwanna Georges, Sheniqua Mills, Shequana James and Shenique Hendrickson; nephews, Kimani Mills and MusiQ Mills and T’Zhan Pickering; aunts, Jhoy Caines, Merva Kelly (husband George) and Shellomin Martin-James.

She is also survived by her brothers-in-law, Byron Blyden, Junior, and Egan John; sisters-in-law, Teknika Mills, Lantavian Mills, Shanita, Alynthia, Kerly and Julia John and Tyhiesia Pacquette; uncles, Cordell Roberts, Glenville and Winston Caines, Arlington James, Stanley Morris and Cardin Gumbs; cousins, Sacha and Tasha Gumbs and Nijo Mills and many more cousins too numerous to mention; godparents, Jemima Parris, Bianca Maynard, Joy Marsham, Brenda Kelly and Ali Hanley; a very dear and close friend, D’reen Phipps Corneille; and the wonderful and caring co-workers at Bluebeard's Hotel; family friends, Jacqueline Taylor and family, Marva Caines, Tamara Joseph, Gleason Thompson, Syreeta Gumbs, Dora Esdaille and family, Nioka Reed and family, Jamon and Kishma Liburd and family, Jacqueline Gumbs, Kesha Ells, Erminie Fahie, the Dickenson family in Tampa, Rosetta Georges and family and Ms. Young and family.

The first viewing is Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at Turnbull’s Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The second viewing is Thursday, December 20, 2018, from 9:00 am. to 10:00 a.m. with the service immediately following. The body will be cremated.
