Marjorie Weston Smith

The children of the late Marjorie Weston Smith solemnly announce her passing on January 5, 2018, at Luis Hospital, St. Croix, at the blessed age of 91.

Viewing will be held January 26 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Turnbull’s Funeral Home.

Tributes will be held January 27 at 9:00 a.m., with services to be at 10:000 a.m. at All Saints Cathedral. Interment will be at Raimer Cemetery.

Marjorie was the wife of the late Rev. Dr. C. Warren Smith for 51 years. She will be remembered for her crystal clear mezzo-soprano voice that she shared with the community and her church. A notable moment in her career was singing the national anthem at the Yankees exhibition game on St. Thomas in the early 1960’s.

She is survived by her children: Riise E. S. Richards; Dr. Conrad W. Smith Jr.; Craig A. Smith and Dr. Arlene N. S. Christopher and stepdaughter Roslyn Dotson; grandchildren: Radiance Richards; Rochelle Lockridge Ferris; Anthony Smith; Amaker Smith; Anna Smith; Asaph Smith and Azrielle Smith; stepgrandchildren: Kara Simpson and Regina Dotson; great-grandchildren: Conrad Weekes; C’Rawn Sasso and Zavyion Lockridge; sisters: Doris Todman and Cynthia Weston; nephews: Terrance Todman Jr., Gilbert Joseph, Mark Joseph, Michael Todman; nieces: Patricia Todman Rhymer, Ariane Joseph Lewis, Renee Joseph Rhymer, and Senator Alicia “Chucky” Hansen; sons-in-law: John Charles Richards and Romeo Christopher; daughter-in-law: Sherri Smith; grandson-in-law: Vernon Ferris and Rawn Sasso; nieces-in-law: Christine Joseph and Lynn Todman; nephews-in-law: Gregory Rhymer; John Lewis and Elihu Rhymer; great- nephews: Joshua, Joseph and Jeremiah Brown; Sean Todman; Ryan Joseph; Emory Rhymer; Nathan, Dante, Emmett and Anthony Joseph; great-nieces: Melanie Todman: Nicole Joseph and Jasmine Brown; special cousins: Alfred Raimer; Roy Raimer; Mavis Neptune; Hubert Raimer; Lillith Malone; Linda Vanterpool; and Lillian “Sadie” Moolenear; special friends: Inez Hart; Carmen Lindesay; Reubina Gomez; Leona Wheatley; Carol Lewis; Marcia Colon Hodge; and Edith Leerdam; family: the Malone, Weston, Daniel, Raimer and Vanterpool families; special caregivers: Margret Prosper and Margret Abraham.The family requests that all attendees wear festive attire.
